Stevie Low has been singing in various capacities for the best part of twenty years. Initially from the emerging live music scene in Guildford, Stevie sang in several bars in and around Guildford performing on a regular basis. He moved up to supporting Gavin Thomas who is still a driving force in promoting live performances in Guildford. In 2001 Stevie joined " Fish Belly White", a successful band with an album already recorded. After the release of their second album they went on to play "Guilfest" two years running. Stevie performed in stage shows too, taking on the lead roll as "Moonface" in "Anything Goes" staged at the Electric Theatre.

Ferris Cowper
<

Ferris plays drums and has been performing with local bands in the south east for several years. His 15 minutes of fame came on 22nd. December 2007 when the Times newspaper ran a major feature about Ferris and Al Murray, the comedian, on page three, highlighting the success of those who had come late in life to performance music.

His big break in performance came when he joined up with the MIA franchise Weekend Warriors, (now “Get Rockin’”) and has since performed several times at The Boileroom, Guildford, Petersfield Christmas Market and Grayshott Jamboree. He has performed in the Battle of the Bands at the Electric Theatre, Guildford with The Beagles who were runners up.

Ferris has worked closely with session drummer Alex Yeats and well known jazz drummer Simon Pearson who performs nationally and internationally and also on radio.

Ian Morton

Ian is our rock solid bassist who drives the rhythm section. Originally a Lead Guitarist, Ian turned professional at the age of 19 and toured Australia with a very successful Showband for over two years.

On his return to England he took up a musical residency at a large country hotel in Sussex and for four years was musical director of a Tunbridge Wells Review Group.

Over the past thirty years Ian has played in a number of Dance, Blues and Rock bands across the south of England, converting to bass guitar in 2001. Ian also performs backing vocals

Stuart Wheaton

Elkie Brooks, “Rocky Horror” and “The Commitments” all feature in the varied background of our very cool Lead Guitarist, Stuart Wheaton. He graduated with honours from the University of Surrey in 1997, (seems like only yesterday), majoring in guitar performance, having studied with Carlos Bonell, Mark Eden and Arne Braitland. He performed Steve Reich’s ‘Electric Counterpoint’ at the Nottingham Music Festival, alongside appearances at Guildford House and London Guitar Festival.

He has performed in various shows including ‘Rocky Horror‘, (1993) and ‘The Commitments‘, (1994). He has also played alongside Elkie Brooks band members in many venues across the country. Following extensive character building experience with function bands, guitar quartets and duos, Stuart then forged a busy career as a guitar teacher. He has been the Head of Guitar at Surrey Arts (2002-2005), and now teaches at Bedales School and Churchers’ College where he teaches guitar, mandolin, ukulele and banjo, as well as coaching various bands and ensembles. He also examines for the University of West London. He lives in Farnham, Surrey with his wife and two children. .

Andy Duerden - Keyboards & Vocals Andy Duerden - Keyboards & Vocals

Andy's musical Rock and Roller Coaster ride has taken him far and wide!

He has worked as solo artist, duo, trio or up to 8 piece band, working with the finest session musicians.

Having attained ALCM level as a pianist by the age of 15, he drifted off into the murky world of songwriting. He's written music for an Edinburgh show, BLISS, starring Emily Blunt and Adrian Rawlins which had 5* reviews and later ran for 4 months in New Zealand. His solo album Masterpiece was another highlight in 2010. Then throw in several TV credits and co-writes.
Teaching has filled another musical space and he's proud to see several of his ex students out there and chasing the dream for themselves.

Mix in plenty of session work as either singer or keys player. Then there’s copious amounts of live work from the local pub, to MD of House Band at The Original Songwriters Club, W14, to top end corporate functions (where his clients have included Stephen Hendry, Lord/Lady Taverners, Escape Hotels Barbados) and through to festivals.

Good Times Roll are privileged to have Andy as a member of the band.
